Grupo R wins contract for two shallow water platforms

Grupo R was assigned a contract for the engineering, procurement, construction, loading, mooring, transport and installation of two drilling platforms in the Gulf of Mexico last week.
Construction will take place at the Bosnor shipyard situated on the Pánuco River in Tampico, Tamaulipas.

Centenario GR reached 2 million operating hours without lost time incident.

The semi-submersible platform Centenario GR started operations with Petróleos Mexicanos (PEMEX) at the end of 2010, to date it has drilled 20 exploratory and development wells in the deep and ultra-deep waters of the Gulf of Mexico.

The crew onboard is made up of national and other international personnel, they are an integrated and highly experienced team, working with high safety standards and achieving operating efficiencies of over 98%.

Grupo R signs exploration and production contract with Pemex

Today, March 2, 2018, the migration of the Financed Public Work Contract from the Misión block to an Exploration and Extraction Contract was signed together with the National Hydrocarbons and Petroleum Commission (CNH), with which Grupo R is once again present in another successful event of the oil industry in Mexico.

Drilling activity

Our semi-submersible platform Centenario GR, completed the drilling of the Nobilis- 101 well at a depth of 18,701 feet. Centenario GR is currently drilling the Ambus-1 well, which is estimated to reach a depth of 20,440 feet.
On the other hand, the semi-submersible platform La Muralla IV, is drilling the Goliat-1 well, which will reach an estimated depth of 24,373 feet.

Grupo Rigs reaching new depths

The Grupo R semi-submersible rig Centenario is approaching the completion of the deepest ultra-deepwater well ever drilled in Mexico. The well, known as the Nobilis – 101, is currently being drilled in a water depth of 3,030 meters (9,941 feet).

The Nobilis-1 well is located 220 km (137 mi) off the coast of the northeastern state of Tamaulipas in the Cinturon Plegado de Perdido area.
